ABSTRACT
The existence of accident-prone locations (Black Spots) is also caused by the declining quality of road infrastructure components. The purpose of this study is to identify locations that are categorized as accident-prone on road segments in the South Putussibau District, road infrastructure components that have the potential to directly cause accidents to road users and provide recommendations for improving road safety. Data analysis is based on the Accident Rate (TK), Accident Equivalent Number (AEK), Critical Crash Ratio and Roadworthiness Test (ULFJ) approaches. The results of the discussion obtained the distribution of accident-prone locations (Black Spots) on roads in the South Putussibau District area of 14 locations. Locations experiencing critical conditions (ranked 3rd highest) include Black Spots 3 (South Cross Road STA 0+962 to 1+162), Black Spots 4 (South Cross Road STA 0+651 to 0+851) and Black Spots 11 (East Cross Road STA 1+542 to 1+742). The dominant road infrastructure components that have the potential to directly cause accidents are road equipment components related to functionality, the utilization of road sections related to surrounding conditions and traffic engineering management related to implementation. Recommendations for improving road safety include the addition of signs, markings, eliminating disturbances to road space and harmonization of road equipment.
